Elaine received her B.S. degree in Accounting in 1970 and M.S. in Business in 1979 from Mississippi University for Women.  She received her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Mississippi State University.

She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Mississippi Society of CPAs.

While teaching at MUW, Elaine started her own accounting firm.  In 2016, after twenty-four years on her own, she joined Watkins, Ward and Stafford.  Her primary emphasis is individual and small business taxes.

Elaine has been active in the MUW Alumni Association and  serves as Treasurer of the MUW Employees’ Federal Credit Union.  She and her husband have five children and are active members of Steens Church of Christ.  They enjoy spending time with their eight grandchildren.
